AnswerCite is governed by principles of modularity, transparency, and symbolic trust. We scaffold every repo to reflect operational maturity and contributor clarity.
- MVP decisions are made by CODEOWNERS or designated maintainers
- Schema and trust logic must be reviewed by at least one hygiene steward
- Escalation paths are defined per repo via CODEOWNERS and
status.json
Each repo should include:
README.mdwith purpose and usagestatus.jsonwith uptime, version, and governance signalsCODEOWNERSfile for contributor clarity- Optional
docs/folder for API reference
We believe trust is earned through clarity, not complexity. Our governance scaffolds:
- Avoid lock-in and opaque dependencies
- Prioritize privacy-first, citation-first logic
- Encourage symbolic UX (badges, flags, maturity checklists)
Experimental repos are labeled clearly and may bypass some maturity scaffolds. Contributors should still follow hygiene-first defaults.
We welcome feedback, dissent, and creative scaffolding. Governance is a living system—help us evolve it.
