🧭 AnswerCite Governance Model

AnswerCite is governed by principles of modularity, transparency, and symbolic trust. We scaffold every repo to reflect operational maturity and contributor clarity.

🧠 Decision-Making

  • MVP decisions are made by CODEOWNERS or designated maintainers
  • Schema and trust logic must be reviewed by at least one hygiene steward
  • Escalation paths are defined per repo via CODEOWNERS and status.json

🧩 Repo Maturity Signals

Each repo should include:

  • README.md with purpose and usage
  • status.json with uptime, version, and governance signals
  • CODEOWNERS file for contributor clarity
  • Optional docs/ folder for API reference

🛡️ Trust Philosophy

We believe trust is earned through clarity, not complexity. Our governance scaffolds:

  • Avoid lock-in and opaque dependencies
  • Prioritize privacy-first, citation-first logic
  • Encourage symbolic UX (badges, flags, maturity checklists)

🧪 Experimental Modules

Experimental repos are labeled clearly and may bypass some maturity scaffolds. Contributors should still follow hygiene-first defaults.

📣 Contributor Voice

We welcome feedback, dissent, and creative scaffolding. Governance is a living system—help us evolve it.
