ChEBI is undergoing some changes: blog post
For us, this does not constitute a major change, but we should try the new ChEBI data products and see if anything breaks. One thing that will most likely break is the SMILES extraction. The annotation property for SMILES will change from chebi:smiles to chemrof:smiles_string.
The changes come into effect in September 2025. I assume this will not affect prior ChEBI version, so this is not an urgent issue. But of course we should have a look once a release of ChEBI 2.0 is out.
