Hey everyone. I recently exported a ProRes 4444 UHD 4K with six channel surround file and embedded CEA-608 captions. My intent was to then take that file and make a streaming version of it using the Apple Devices 4K (HEVC 8-bit setting). I couldn't make the file because Compressor returned a "Timing Error: Captions Exceeded the Data Limit" error. for about six captions.
I qualified these captions before importing them into FCP. I cleared any caption errors in FCP before exporting the ProRes 4444 file.
I am curious why I am able to export from my timeline in FCP (12) a streaming version with the same HEVC/AAC Settings without issue and errors but not Compressor; the difference being that I exporting directly from the timeline and Compressor was going to work from the ProRes with the embedded captions.
I have not tried to send to Compressor to see if that yields a different result.
