Creating a new Motion Category is painfully slow

DESCRIBE THE BUG:
When saving a Motion Template (in this case a Title for Final Cut Pro), creating a new Category is painfully slow. It takes a good few seconds to save a new Category - but I have no idea why?

TO REPRODUCE:
Create a new Title in Apple Motion 5.7, then try and save it to a new Category.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:
It should create a new Category instantly.

Jump forward to 2026... Apparently this is still an issue on Motion v6.0. Tested on a few different machines. Doh!

It's clearly related to the number of categories you have. WHY Apple isn't caching this information is just weird.

If you have a few Categories - it's fine:

But if you have lots of third party Motion Templates installed it's SO SLOW:
