Thanks for the patches! However to use this in production one has to maintain custom builds, as the docker hub builds are latest-only based off ce-latest. I took the liberty of starting the process at https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/merge_requests/17363 and it'd be great to hear from @stevenmirabito with blessing and/or help.

Additionally the gitlab team might need clarification re licenses.

Thanks for getting this started; I’ve been meaning to upstream this. I’ll take a look at what will be required re: tests and such and get involved with that MR over on GitLab.
