Overview

Comprehensive update to align the website with recent app improvements and to clean up the repository itself. This work spans content, media, and repo health.

Background

Two significant changes have been made to the GF PriceChecker iOS app that are not yet reflected on the website:

  1. Receipt Verification UX Improvements — The receipt verification flow has been redesigned to improve usability.
  2. Unit Rate Adjustment — A unit rate adjustment feature has been implemented for accurate cost capture when calculating price differentials.

Both changes affect how users interact with the app and must be reflected in all instructional and marketing content on the website.

Scope of Work

1. Workspace Setup

  • Configure a GitHub workspace linking this website repo (GFPriceChecker.github.io) and the main app repo (GFPriceChecker) for coordinated development

2. Website Content Updates

  • Update all copy referencing receipt verification to reflect the improved UX flow
  • Add/update content explaining the unit rate adjustment feature and its role in price differential calculation
  • Review and revise all feature descriptions, FAQ entries, and announcements to ensure accuracy

3. Media & Instructional Content

  • Re-record or replace demo videos that show the receipt verification flow
  • Re-record or replace any instructional videos covering price capture/differential
  • Update video metadata, captions, and descriptions as needed
  • Replace placeholder video files with updated assets once produced

4. Repo Cleanup & Enhancements

  • Review and update all Markdown files (README.md, CLAUDE.md, DESIGN-SYSTEM.md, Documents/)
  • Establish a versioning/release strategy and document it (e.g. CHANGELOG.md or GitHub Releases)
  • Tag a release to mark the current state of the site before this overhaul begins
  • Review sitemap.xml and robots.txt for accuracy
  • Remove stale TODOs, outdated placeholder notes, and completed checklist items from docs
  • Audit JSON data files (blog.json, announcements.json, faq.json, status.json) for stale content

Acceptance Criteria

  • All website content accurately reflects the current app UX for receipt verification
  • Unit rate adjustment is clearly explained and discoverable on the site
  • Demo and instructional videos are current and match the latest app build
  • All repo Markdown files are accurate and up to date
  • A versioning/release approach is documented and an initial release is tagged
  • No stale placeholders or outdated documentation remain in the repo

Dependencies

  • Updated app builds / final UX for receipt verification must be stable before re-recording videos
  • Coordination with the GFPriceChecker app repo for feature parity confirmation
