Blocklist no longer blocks calls

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Add numbers to the blocklist (eg. +33377****** or +33424******)
2. The numbers don't get blocked, and the calls still happen

Expected behavior

A few months ago, the numbers were properly blocked, and the calls were rejected

Actual behavior

Now, the calls aren't rejected, and can go through, as if they weren't blocked

Additional information

Nothing really changed on the 2 phones. I will try to test it on other phones, but the issue seems to be the same each time. I don't really know where to get regular logs, I would be happy to provide them if I can find some.

• Fossify Phone must be set as the default Caller ID & spam app for blocking to work. Please check if Fossify Phone is set as the default in Settings ➜ Apps ➜ Default apps ➜ Caller ID & spam app:

I checked again, and Fossify Phone is still set at the default caller ID & spam app on both phones:

It worked in the past, and stop working at some point, without the setting ever changing.

Multiple asterisks are harmless but unnecessary. You can replace +33377******, +33424******, etc., with +33377*, +33424*, and so on.
Oh thanks, I thought that I needed to put the right numbers of asterisks, I'll put only one in the future then.

I assume Fossify Phone is set as the default dialer/phone app on both devices? Also, do you use Fossify Messages? If yes, is pattern blocking working as expected there?

There were some fixes to the way numbers are blocked in v1.11.0. It would help if you downgrade to v1.10.0 to see if blocking works in that version.

I use Fossify Messages, but I don't receive any SMS from anyone other than my contacts, so I don't know if the issue is shared.

To downgrade, I uninstalled the software and installed version 1.10.0, but now:

I can't put it back as the default phone app, there seems to be some kind of link but I can't click on it, and my mojeek searching didn't gave me issues similar to this. I have the GMS disabled, so I don't really know what to do to get back the permission and continue the testing.

It's a new system restriction. Please follow the steps here.

Note that if the original install was not the default phone app (for some reason), blocking is expected to not work in that case.

I followed the steps, and now Fossify Phone is back to the default phone app, at version 1.10.0 like you recommended.

I set it as the default phone app and caller id/spam app:

No, even on 1.10.0, with Fossify Phone as the default phone app and caller id/spam app, the blocklist is still not working.

I received a call from a number starting with +33377, didn't get blocked, and it's in my blocklist.

Thanks for testing. I haven't found any reasons why this would stop working now, and it works correctly on my devices. Could you please try replacing +33377****** with +33377*? Usually, both should work, but there may be an issue here.
