Sustainable Enterprise Architecture principles and patterns

Lisa Pratico who leads a group under IASAglobal.org focused on bringing sustainability to enterprise architecture is interested in engaging with GSF to link Enterprise Architecture principles and patterns with those that software engineering leverage for end-to-end solutions ensuring sustainability is a focus in designs and development efforts.

They are under the IASA Global umbrella. IASA owns an Architecture Framework (similar to TOGAF) but completely open-source. IASA also runs CAF which is a Chief Architect Forum with over 500 chief enterprise architects from organizations across the globe.

Meeting Notes

The meeting discussed the integration of Enterprise Architecture principles and patterns with software engineering for sustainability. Feedback from Sebastian was positive, and the next steps include verifying the accuracy of the adopters file and seeking approval from the steering committee. The team is currently stuck in the first stage of categorizing patterns and seeking feedback. The Green Software Foundation (GSF) aims to create open-source repositories and certification for sustainable architecture. The discussion highlighted the need for a seamless integration of principles and patterns across different levels of software development, from executive strategy to engineering practices.

Actions

• Russ and Sean to review the discussion and identify opportunities for collaboration between the Sustainable Architecture organization and the GSF's patterns work.
• Schedule a follow-up meeting with Russ, Sean, and the Sustainable Architecture representatives to further discuss potential collaboration.
