I tried both python 3.7.4 and python 3.8.0. and I get the same error message. I change this line to the python version that I have: use_python("/usr/local/Caskroom/miniconda/base/bin/python")

I also tried /usr/local/bin/python3. It just did not work.

if you use reticulate use_python, the default python will be something like this:
py_config():

python: /Users/jianshuzhao/Library/r-miniconda/envs/r-reticulate/bin/python
libpython: /Users/jianshuzhao/Library/r-miniconda/envs/r-reticulate/lib/libpython3.6m.dylib

It turns out that use_python function does not work but this works after a few try:

Sys.setenv(RETICULATE_PYTHON = "/usr/local/bin/python")
library(reticulate)

I can now run it on Safari!!
