End Caps on Schedule bars to differentiate resize from move

I would like an easy way to see with mouseover whether my drag action will move or resize the schedule bar. My suggestion is to make 'end caps' affordances that control the resize actions, then mouseover the rest of the schedule bar will show the move signifier.
