When sysadmin is adding a new application to a node, it's important to know the available resources, read: the free disk space. If a node has an additional volume free disk space is already displayed during volume selection, but nodes without additional volumes do not provide an alternative indication.
Proposed solution
- Display the free space of the root filesystem in the node selector. This is required by Install, Restore, and Clone/Move workflows. Note that the installation is available in Software Center and Domains and Users page.
If a node has an active free disk alert because free disk space is low, the node selection should be inhibited, no matter if additional volumes are present or not.
Alternative solutions
- Do not implement point 2
- Add a 2nd paragraph to Additional volumes selection step:
Other application files remain on the default volume
