#53 should help with some of this, the CSS is now inlined so there is no second request.

To fix the perceptual Speed Index we need to reduce the amount of AJAX based requests. The score is pretty good when loading from a service worker but that is because the UI is very stable. There is an option to inline the first couple of responses from the proxy server.
