• Started discussion with general inductions

• Discussed Dr. Raston's goals for the project:

  • Finish the virtual FTIR spectrometer
    • Finish air/vacuum toggle
    • Finish find peaks
    • Update visuals
  • Complete an article (~10,000 words) and letter (~4,000 words) on the work completed

• Discussed how to accomplish air/vacuum using the Radis library

• Talked with Ray about:
  • Different services involved with hosting the API
    • Cloudflare
    • Oracle Cloud
  • The practicality of using Mattermost as a Slack alternative.
  • The general idea behind moving existing JavaScript code to TypeScript
  • Using a library like mypy for Python type checking
  • Using OpenAPI to automate documentation as HTML
  • Using Cloudflare Tunnels for forwarding pre-release/development code branches to one another
  • Finding a solution for password management between team members

For 5/22/23

• Added the new resolutions to the FTIR
  • Fully tested the new resolutions
• Developed a plan for implementing Vacuum vs Air on the FTIR
  • Still needs to be implemented; hopefully, it should be straightforward
• Developed a plan to finalize the Find Peaks functionality
  • This will take a bit more effort than the resolutions and vacuum vs air
  • my goal is to keep the implementation as simple as possible
    • I will likely need to set up a new get request to the Python server
  • this will ultimately lead to more flexibility in what data users analyze than originally expected!

I plan to work on the Vacuum vs Air functionality tomorrow, but there is a chance that I will have to handle a private matter instead; I do not know how long that will take.
