cannot find config file

I have a pi zero 1 and case 2w
I installed recalbox-rpi1.img.xz
I started it up, let it initialize. it had the weird screen layout where it's rotated 90deg and really small in the top left
Then i turned it off, put the SD card in my PC, and looked for the config.txt

it's not there

some other threads mention that the file is actually called recalbox-user-config.text but that also does not exist.

Where is this file supposed to be? I tried creating one in the root of the "SHARE" partition and it didn't work.

Why don't you put a screenshot?
Because it does exist, I installed version 9.1, although it works perfectly for me the first time and then it doesn't.
Changing the file either but of course this is for version 8.1.1
