Floe Generation #6

Description

@Mason-DEM

Hello,

I am a 3rd year undergraduate co-op student at the University of Waterloo assisting with sea-ice DEM research. As a part of this, I am modelling lake ice in comparison with current satellite data, using SubZero for the collision/fracture mechanics, while using some other code for thermodynamic properties etc.

I am interested in running some different test cases on lakes, however in order to do this, I would have to generate a land profile similar to the Nares Straight test case, as well as generate individual floes in more specified locations. For example, could I place a larger floe of a certain size at locations x, y, z while filling in other regions with smaller floes. If this is possible in SubZero, would this entail bypassing the Voronoi tessellation function or would it mean modifying this? To clarify, my questions are these:

  1. How can I generate a lake shore (or other land mass) profile?
  2. To what extent can the generated floes in SubZero be fine tuned in terms of size and position?

If you could help to fill the gaps in my understanding that would be greatly helpful. Please let me know if there's anything I can clarify, as I am still learning this code.

Thanks,
Mason
