Description
If I paste a link into a Basilisk chat, that link is removed from the conversation and automatically converted to an attachment regardless of the link type or extension. However, now that AI models have web search capabilities, I often post links that are meant to be analyzed directly by my AI chat partner.
Proposed Solutions
- Add a setting that controls Basilisk behavior when a link is pasted into the chat view.
- Only create attachments if the link extension is compatible with a file type supported by Basilisk.
- Disable the link pasting conversion entirely.
- Some combination of the solutions above.
Final Thoughts
At this point, I am curious to hear what maintainers think of this issue, and the best path for link pasting moving forward.
