Native support for more browser

Hi,

Is there a willing to support more browsers out of a the box or the usage of custom blobs is the way to go ? For example Vivaldi is currently not getting parsed right away and I'll be willing to make a PR to add it to the config if it's relevant.

Thanks for the kind words! We would love to accept PRs to improve - the goal is to support as many sources of evidence as possible.

Is Vivaldi just a variation of chromium? I.e. is it just that the SQLite files are found in a different location?

Do we just need to extend the globs here

Yes Vivaldi is a chromium variation and by default the relevant path should be C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Vivaldi.
In case of different browsers like (PUA) Shift browser, (PUA)EPI browser, Zen browser, Arc Browser do they need to have a custom globs configured since the folder name is different than the ones in the config.yaml ?

Yes it is basically free to add more globs since if the browser is not installed, there will be no files there.

We should aim to cover all the bases just in case.

When the files are found, they are tested against the rules to actually parse them so as long as all variations of chromium contain basically the same sqlite tables it should work the same way
