Solutions I found on stack overflow which worked are
changing this code
let recordingFormat = node.outputFormat(forBus: 0)
to this
let recordingFormat = AVAudioFormat(standardFormatWithSampleRate: 44100, channels: 1)

in the SpeechController class. Let me know your views on this ?
