[Bug]: blocking when stopping the container

I have done the following

• I have searched the existing issues
• If possible, I've reproduced the issue using the 'main' branch of this project

Steps to reproduce

container stop ${Container ID}

Current behavior

blocking when stopping the container.
It seems that it would never return.

Expected behavior

stop the running container in few seconds

Environment

- OS: macOS 26.2
- Xcode: 
- Container: 0.7.1

Hi @bit-hope we've seen quite a few cases where stop hangs if the container's VM panicked, I'd like to confirm if that's the case here as well.

Can you try to find the boot log for the container and provide them here? Assuming the container service itself is still running, you should be able to do that by running container logs --boot <name of your container>.

I also encountered a similar issue and attached the relevant boot logs. From the logs, it can be seen that the container can stop normally at 2025-12-23T14:14:29+0000 debug vminitd : pid=-1 signal=9 [vminitd] kill. However, at 2025-12-24T01:21:31+0000 debug vminitd : pid=-1 signal=9 [vminitd] kill, the container fails to stop normally. This indicates that under certain conditions, the container's stop operation may be blocked. Please refer to the logs, hoping it will help you further diagnose the issue.
