Giving a temporary home to issues involving the "A network error occurred" message.
This can be caused by a number of things, so the error message absolutely needs to be more descriptive.
The most common cause is the server running out of RAM while locating beats. It can also sometimes be that a non-MP3 file was uploaded, or because the YouTube downloader is out of date.
If you are willing to provide a data point for this issue, please post in a comment:
- Song name/URL (no files, uploading copyrighted music to GitHub is probably a bad idea)
- Effects used (screenshot is OK)
- Exact error message, including status code if given
Where possible, these will be used in future testing.
Known workarounds
- Manually upload an MP3 file instead of using a YouTube download
- Reduce bitrate using ffmpeg or a site like 8mb.video
- Disable uBlock origin if using Firefox (rare, but has caused an issue at least once)
- Use a different, shorter song if all else fails :(
