React 16 support

Hey, wondering if you'd consider accepting a PR to make this lib react 16-compliant? Wasn't sure if you were still keeping tabs on this repo so wanted to check in before doing the work.

Hey, I'm the original author. I don't think anyone at Body Labs (now Amazon) is using this. I had fun writing this and I'd be happy to help keep it up to date going forward. Feel free to open a PR in my fork!
