Floating IP not reachable by public

Hi,
I followed the document pretty close. Trying to build openstack cluster on 2 servers with single nics.

Compute Node , Controller Node

I am having couple of issues.

• I can assign private and public IPz to the vm.

  a> Cannot ping/ssh from public to the floating IP
  b> Cannot ssh/ping to private IP from the compute node.

Any help is appreciated.
