Missing Scandinavian and German glyphs

The font is missing the entire Latin-1 subset. It would be nice if we could add the Scandinavian and German glyphs for the beginning.

Context

When you type these letters in the game by pasting them (typing doesn't work), the game switches to a non-monospaced font. As far as I can tell, it's “Arail.” This shifts the line height to an unexpected height, which ruins the entire chat and shell area.

I am very interested in the "typing doesn't work" issue... but that is out of scope here I guess, maybe more appropriate for a "discussion"... I am equipped to debug this issue on Linux at least.

Yeah the typing them out might be something we have to fix in the client.

After some testing on Linux, I am cautiously optimistic that typing Swedish/German will just work, if we add the new chars in a certain list in the client.

Should we now go to a draft PR to set up the glyphs and do testing? Or do more testing/design work here first?

For testing I am thinking of loading the glyphs in-game and taking screenshots of some Swedish/German texts at different gui.sizes.

Nope. We've got screenshots of the issue, well defined issue, and I've prioritized the issue as 'normal' priority. The scope in the issue is clear. Y'all are good to go for proposing a fix.

Once we have the changes ready, we'll document how we go about making sure that we didn't break anything in the client with the font changes. and probably document how to properly update the font in the client repo as we work through that PR.

Ok @kaj-se can you fork and make a PR? Feel free to ask questions here... I have a merge_glyphs.py script somewhere that might be useful, and I can provide github/git help too.

I would make a PR myself but I need cla-assistant to ask you to sign the CLA, since the font contributions will be yours. 😄

It doesn't have to be perfect yet, just testable and submitted by you.
