Shared user behaviour in map view

Shared user tracks are difficult to differentiate from the own track, and if there are many shared users, it's challenging to keep track of them.

Describe the solution you'd like

I suggest to:

• Display the user's track color in the user list, so that it's clear which color belongs to which user
• Show/hide user tracks by clicking on the user's avatar.

Exactly, that's the main use-case behind the various issues I created. If there are other ideas on how this could be implemented, that would be wonderful.

I think I'm trying to bring many of the OwnTracks features into reitti, which would make it the OwnTracks solution (which is currently a bit missing).

I appreciate the idea of being able to hide or show particular user tracks on the map. I am currently redoing the entire map system anyway, and it should be possible to integrate a switch for user selection to hide or show a track.

In my opinion, Reitti is designed to track your personal movements to help recall memories later. That is my core vision for what Reitti is and where it should be heading. While it is possible to use it to track multiple users or devices (and these aspects can be discussed interchangeably), its primary use case is tracking your personal position and, perhaps, those of a few family members if desired. So, we're typically talking about one to possibly four users simultaneously. Of course, this approach would likely become impractical for larger families or many friends all using Reitti (though I would love to hear from anyone with such a setup!). The current UI is not really suitable for tracking numerous devices or users simultaneously, and I doubt it ever will be.

There are probably better solutions that focus more on tracking all your devices. Perhaps the OwnTracks app itself, which solely displays tracks, would be better suited for that purpose, though I haven't used it personally.

So, long story short:

I will integrate your idea of having the ability to hide and show tracks on the map into the 4.0 release.

Take your time and give some feedback if this could help widen the use cases for reitti without loosing the main use case.
