Problem
Num Lock is on by default with no way (to my knowledge) to change that behavior besides manually turning it off every reboot.
Proposal
Add a "Num Lock behavior:" button to "Keyboard Settings" > "Layout" (like there is for "Caps Lock behavior:") that allows for it to be disabled by default.
It is off by default for me using xfce and in other operating systems, so it's something Pantheon-specific that's turning it on when I log in.
I understand that it's important that folks not "color outside the lines" when using elementary OS, which I think heightens the importance of having extra settings like this so folks don't have to find quirky workarounds or hack their way around issues. I am trying to take a very "by the books" approach to the features I am trying to find (and request if I can't), noting any unorthodox workarounds if I come across them.
Thank you! :-)
