Data on China？

Hi all,

I am an agricultural economist who is very interested in the fiboa project. In my understanding, there is currently no available data from China in fiboa format, correct? Any chances that we are going to have fiboa data for China in near future? I am working with some GIS experts in China and I would be happy to know how we could chip in and contribute to the project by preparing fiboa data for China? thx

Welcome @ChuanTC! You are correct there is as of yet no available data from China in fiboa. And I don't think we're aware of any that would be easy to convert, so no immediate plans.

But yes, it would be awesome to have some for China, and any help would be much appreciated. The biggest thing is just finding the data - understanding the websites in Chinese and getting the actual field boundaries out. If you're able to get the data in most any format we can easily help with making a converter. But you'd be welcome to take that on too, it's quite easy.

Openly licensed data that is not machine generated is the ideal, as then it'd be a candidate for https://fieldsofthe.world and input to ML algorithms that'd create boundaries. But most any contributions in fiboa format are very welcome.

Dear @ChuanTC , are you aware of open data on Chinese fields? Do you maybe have a link to a website some other source? We could assist in creating a converter and publishing open data on source.coop ....
