I had checked this before. This approach uses ContentExternalBackdropLink, and unfortunately doesn't exist in the projection dll. (i think it is available in c++ so WinUIEssentials easily use it.) Therefore, it has to be generated manually from the winmd file. This isn’t stable and may cause issues across different versions of the Windows App SDK.
Here you can see it. I’m not interested in putting 4000+ lines of extracted code into the library just to make the background acrylic.

The best approach is to wait for and use the SystemBackdropHost control, which will allow us to apply Acrylic or Mica wherever we want. Once they’re released, we can simply add this element to the ComboBox template or any other control.

Therefore, I won’t close this issue until the control is added in WASDK v2.0.0 stable (currently available in experimenta versions), and then we’ll implement it in the ComboBox.
