Add a function which goes from Doc to String in one go.

The amount of setup to quickly render the doc (e.g. in GHCi) is way too much.

There is show, but ignores all annotations. There should be "easy" show in prettyprinter-ansi-terminal.

This is a bit similar to your request in #104. Maybe there should be a Prettyprinter.Render.Terminal.Util module in prettyprinter-ansi-terminal in analogy to prettyprinter's Prettyprinter.Util?!

Maybe. I generally find that prettyprinter lacks too many convenience functions.

For example the documentation says

<$>, <$$>, </>, <//> are special cases of vsep, vcat, fillSep, fillCat with only two documents.

But those infix combinators are quite useful (at least when migrating old codebases). And I'm also puzzled why prettyprinter-compat-ansi-wl-pprint defines

(<$>) = \x y -> x <> New.line <> y

and not

x <$> y = New.vsep [x, y]

The documentation and code don't agree on the nose. (They do if you further look like how vsep is defined).

WHy these are omitted (ok, <$> is a bad name, but one come up with new ones). It cannot be because you try to keep interface minimal: there is braces which I probably will never use because I will want to control the spacing.

I'm also not a fan of .Util module. It hides things which don't need to be hided. Wild card imports is bad practice and main Prettyprinter module is already quite extensive, there are many names so you need to be very crazy to defend that

import Prettyprinter

is a good idea. So I dont' see a good reason to hide 3 or 4 functions in .Util.
