Perhaps it's taking time to load because too much data is being processed? Strangely, after I clicked the help button, it immediately allowed me to enter text.

I guess this is related to some specific request. There's not a lot of processing involved in the filter box, but it does try to calculate some suggestions based on the traffic you've intercepted (for example, if you filter by hostname it'll suggest all the hostnames used in your requests). It definitely shouldn't take a few seconds, it should really be instant or very close.

It does look like this machine might be a good bit slower (the CPU is 9 years old now) but it should still be very usable I would have thought.

To confirm what's going on here:

• Can you test without any requests intercepted? It should be near-instant in this case.
• Then start intercepting a couple of tiny simple requests to test (e.g. use curl in an intercepted terminal), and check it's still instant.
• Try to work out which request makes it suddenly slow down.

If you can share any other clues about what else might be triggering this that would be very helpful to debug this further.
