Pat menu3 doesn’t stop ARDOP and js8call appimage wont load on LMDE 6

The stop-modems script in pat menu3 does not stop the ARDOP modem. The kill line in the script says ARDOPC64 instead of ARDOPCF. I changed it in both of my computers to ARDOPCF and it works fine now. Also, I had to go into pat.config and update the rig control to “true” in the ardop section because selecting “yes” for rig control in pat menu3 didn’t update it.

Also, the js8call appimage won’t execute on my desktop running LMDE 6. I tried running it from the command line and it says GLIBC_2.38 not found. It runs fine on my laptop running LM 22.1 so it’s not an issue with 73Linux. I ended up installing js8call 2.3.1 using the .deb file and it works fine like that. However I tried to remove the appimage with uninstall on 73Linux and it’s still there and I can’t delete it manually. Just an fyi.

Thanks for the heads up in the stop-modems script. Completely forgot to change that code with the latest revisions. I'll get it in the next update. Are you using PatMenu2 or 3?

Pat Menu has never changed the config file when you select yes for rig control so this isn't unexpected.

You might want to report the JS8Call issue to that dev team. I only tested under Mint.

I just switched to pat menu3 on my laptop I was previously using pat menu2. The desk top is a fresh install of 73 Linux so I started with pat menu3. I haven’t been able to make any ARDOP winlink contacts on either computer since switching to pat menu3 and I could only make 1 vara hf connection since the switch. I also updated to the most recent version of PAT when I installed pat menu3 so there are multiple new variables. Previously I could reliably connect to a number of gateways with both ARDOP and VARA. Im not sure what the issue is. Same radio Xeigu G90 using a digirig and same antenna. Everything seems to be working as it should but I’m not making any connections. Maybe the audio levels in alsa got changed somehow
