Learning more about extprot

Hello,

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask questions, wasn't sure where to ask so I figured a GitHub issues might be a good place to start. I'm really interested in extprot, both in the problem domain it solves as well as implementing it for another language such as Scala or Haskell. I was wondering if you had any recommendations for resources to learn about extprot or extprot-related topics such as its inspirations, philosophy, problem domain, etc? For context I was introduced to extprot as a prime example of how to approach protocol design and evolution.
