Change default editor

Trying to change the default editor from neovim to kate. I would like to change it as I’m ok with kate and find nvim hard going.

I have tried to find the config but can not find any config to change the settings. I have tried change in ml4w settings app but it still uses nvim. Anyone know how to change the default editor.

It's in the settings app under System Scroll down a little bit and you'll see it set to neovim

I have set this to kate but it still default to neovim. If I could find the config file I could change there. I have search for nvim, neovin and vim but with on luck. I was wounding if there is a missing or corrupted file.

Not likely. Check your .bashrc/.zshrc To see if EDITOR=nvim and/or VISUAL=nvim is being set

As I was using fish I found the setting in .config/fish/config.fish. It was set to [set -gx EDITOR nvim] and changed to [set -gx EDITOR kate]
