RIFE NCNN VS choppy

On 1.41.0 RC4, It does the whole interpolate process just fine and is faster than RIFE NCNN Non-VS, but the output file doesn't seem smooth like RIFE NCNN Non-VS is.

I've attached 2 files for a comparison between using RIFE NCNN Non-VS and VS.

RIFE NCNN Non-VS:

RIFE NCNN VS:

Both are interpolated by 8x for a 240fps video. No other changes besides that

Compare the two videos right about at the 2 second mark. The Non-VS has no stuttering but the VS one does.

I see what you mean.

Maybe try adjusting the scene detection threshold?
It looks like it's detecting a ton of false positive as scene changes and thus doesn't interpolate those frames.

Hmmm, both of those initial videos I attached were at the lowest setting (0.05) so I tried the highest level (0.50) and there was no choppiness at all.

And for what's worth, I always put the scene changes at the lowest level because I frequently interpolate movies and long videos as such because if it was any higher, the scene changes itself in the interpolated file would look wrong to me in my opinion. I basically try to eliminate as much scene mess as I can to make it look fine.

It's a threshold, which means lower = more sensitive = more (potential) false positives.

The 0.05 you used is extremely sensitive so it's expected that it will look stuttery as it sees too many frames as scene cuts.

Gotcha. So it must be more of a "trade-off" when set to that low.
