Create Zoom event with registration link

Idea is to use Openscapes Zoom (I think) with a registration link.

I don't want 8 separate events. Rather 1 event with 8 dates.

Times are. 11am-12pm Pacific.

I will be the main person starting/running the sessions. Stef & Julie, you don't need be involved in the actual events. I just need help with set-up of the Zoom event.

@jules32 we don't have a way for Eli to start the mtg without one of us, correct? Most times I can be there to start them and I can stay if that's what's best.

I've set Options: Allow participants to join anytime & no waiting room. I think that means Eli can start meeting, but would not have host permissions - ?would that be ok?

Hi @eeholmes Can you please register & test that you can join meeting?

• You will not have host control (you're not an Openscapes Zoom acct holder $).
• There's no waiting room. Folks will be able to join at any time.
• Is the topic for entire series "LLMs and ML models"? Let me know if you want other text / info in the meeting description.
• With meetings with registration required, if someone shares their zoom link e.g. with me, that person will also be identified as "Stefanie Butland" in the meeting i.e don't share a "registered" zoom link. And once the meeting is in progress, sharing just the root zoom url sends ppl to register, not directly into the meeting.

Hmm but I won't have host controls in case I had to deal with a zoom bombing incident. Maybe it would be better it I did the registration through my UW account so I can be host? I don't want anyone from Openscapes to have to be there every Friday! Or hmm, maybe we/I eat the $24 so I can be added as a host during the 2 months?
