Deprecate this project #31
Description
This project gets very low usage and has not received any substantive updates.
https://www.npmjs.com/package/packet-nodejs
It seems we have two choices:
- 👍 Deprecate and archive the project according to https://docs.npmjs.com/deprecating-and-undeprecating-packages-or-package-versions
- This will prevent users from adopting this project.
- This will free us from the design decisions and naming choice of this project in future efforts (Packet is now Equinix Metal).
- 👎 Reinvigorate this project.
- This is not something that is on schedule to happen and would need to be prompted by a show of user support (on this issue, for example).
- This project could be renamed, and the project API could be drastically changed since this is a semver v0 project.
In either case, future efforts could explore generated SDKs, such as https://github.com/t0mk/gometal (the Makefile has a few variables that can be modified to produce a nodejs client).
Alternatively, the API docs could be the client and users could be encouraged to use any of a number of existing REST API client helpers, such as https://www.npmjs.com/package/redux-api-middleware (used by the Equinix Metal Portal).
