Proposal: Add vertical split option for terminal #1019
Description
The terminal currently opens only in a horizontal split below the main workspace. Is it possible to also support a vertical split, so users can place the terminal beside the main content when that layout fits their screen and workflow better?
Horizontal split can remain the default. Users should be able to choose their preferred terminal orientation, and that preference should persist across sessions
