I cannot import py5 . The import statement crashed with no messages at all .

Can I have more information here? What kind of computer are you using? How did you install Python and Java? What versions? How are you running this code?

I use Windows 11 , Python 3.11.5 , openjdk version "21.0.9" 2025-10-21 LTS
OpenJDK Runtime Environment Temurin-21.0.9+10 (build 21.0.9+10-LTS)

I put the code into a file called "main.py". I ran it on command line . for example :
python main.py

Can you try putting this code in a file and running it?

py5.run_sketch()

The py5.run_sketch() is the critical line that runs the Sketch. If you just define setup() and draw() functions, nothing happens because there is no running Sketch to call them.
