Motivation

I would like Saber to provide a setting to automatically hide the mouse cursor when a stylus/pen is detected in proximity. On my Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen8 running Fedora 42 with GNOME on Wayland, the cursor remains visible while the pen is hovering; a system-configurable option to hide the cursor when the pen is near would greatly improve drawing and handwriting workflows.

Solution

Add a toggle or preference that causes the system cursor to be hidden whenever a stylus/pen is detected as being in proximity (hover), and restored when the pen leaves proximity.

Alternatives

Always hide the system cursor whenever a stylus/pen is detected as being in proximity.

Saber version

v0.26.9 (dl.flathub.org)

Device

  • Device: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen8
  • OS: Fedora 42 with GNOME on Wayland
