Based on the information provided, we were able to partially determine the root cause of the issue. We have planned to include a fix in the upcoming weekly release scheduled for February 10, 2025.

Thank you for your update and for planning a fix in the upcoming weekly release.

Regarding the issue, it appears to occur only on the end user’s device. At this time, I have not been able to reliably reproduce the problem on my side, even after testing with multiple different PDF documents and configurations.

Additionally, I would like to report another related issue: when opening very large PDF files, the application UI becomes unresponsive and eventually crashes. This behavior has only been observed on Android devices so far. Smaller and medium-sized files work as expected

The fix for the reported issue, ‘Null check operator failure in the pdfviewer_canvas.dart file,’ has been implemented, and the weekly release originally planned for today has been postponed to tomorrow, February 11, 2026. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Based on the information provided, we were able to partially determine the root cause of the issue, and the fix has been included in the latest weekly release.

Root cause:
The crash occurs because RenderBox.globalToLocal() requires a valid transform matrix and an attached PipelineOwner, but the RenderBox can be detached, not laid out, or missing a paint transform, leaving its internal state null; we fixed this by adding lifecycle guards before coordinate conversion or event handling and returning early when the object is not attached or lacks a size, ensuring the conversion runs only after the render object is fully attached and laid out.
