Let's start with a discussion about the wiki layout. If you've got ideas about how the Wiki document should be laid out, this is where we can discuss them.

FWIW: I quite like the layout of Rust's book which has the advantage of being readable for the users, not just the implementors.Rust's language specifications uses similar format.

The MS-VBAL specification is quite specific but can be a daunting task for a newcomer trying to follow along and even so, it is hardly a light reading. I am inclined to agree with @mansellan that we can use MS-VBAL as a base but we should look at transforming it into something more readable & useful.

What do you mean by Wiki layout @WaynePhillipsEA ? Are you talking about how to structure the table of contents (TOC), or more generally about navigation layouts etc?

If we're talking about TOC, we should probably scout out how other languages have done it, then cherry pick the best ideas to come up with at least the top-level sections. Obviously the "leaf" pages will get fleshed out as needed.

Some years ago i was not that happy with the Autocad documentation. If you do not know in which document you has to look you will think the docs are crap. And they really comes with some tons of docs. So aside some kind of enerting page i wanna have something similar to google :) So i decompile the whole docs and convert them to markdown. Which later one was stored to a SQLITE database with aa fulltext index :) I aslo adjust all the links and pictures. Finally i end up with a nice help system wher you can preselect the area you want to search and act like using google :) Sorry for that ugly style sheet used in t that picture. Should fit my dark ui. The SQLITE thing make it also easy to update the docs and also enables own content. Its fully interactive. In my case i can now decide where i want to search. Eiter over the whole thing or just in the VBA are or any mix. (Its made by TAGS). Under the hood is also some level system. Not all of our draftsman are developers or Sysadmins which install and manage Autocd. Just as a idea. And yes, the stylesheets of the docs should be adjustable :) You are lucky. You has not to decompile the things first :D That takes a month of my hollydays and was made with a cruel mix of VBA and VB.NET for the markdown. At least i was during that time in Finland and enjoy midsummer there as well :)
