<p>WordPress Leeds is an informal organisation to help promote WordPress and Blogging events in Leeds and West Yorkshire. Our main event is a monthly evening meetup for Bloggers, Journalists, Designers, Developers and anyone interested in Blogging and Digital Publishing.</p>

<h3>David Swarbrick</h3>
<p>David Swarbrick has at various times practised law as a solicitor, programmed computers and studied philosophy. He has been providing resources for online discussion of law since about 1987, and now continues all three interests at swarb.co.uk.<br />
David's talk will discuss the basics of copyright and then continue with the aspects of particular relevance to all bloggers and developers both as creators and users of content.</p>

<p>Tim Nash is the WordPress Platform lead and developer advocate for 34SP.com a Manchester based hosting company. Through his work at 34SP.com he helps to improve the security and performance of thousands of WordPress sites. He is also a blogger, writer and occasional conference speaker.<br />
Tim's talk will concentrate on quick practical tips and steps anyone can do to speed up their site. From finding bottle necks specific to your site as well as general performance issues that affect most WordPress sites.</p>

<p>We are always looking for folks to come and speak at our events. You don't need to be a professional speaker or even to have spoken in a group before. If you don't want to do a talk, but are interested in hearing about a specific subject, or have an idea/problem then why not also get in touch.</p>

Our new venue is directly behind Leeds Train Station (opposite the Wetherspoons), so it is very easy to get to on public transport.<br /> There is plenty of on-street parking around the venue. Alternatively the Trinity car park is a short walk away and is just £3 flat rate after 5pm.
</p>
<p><strong>Nibbles, tea and coffee will be provided, but feel free to bring your own soft drinks.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Please note:</strong> A list of attendees will be given to the venue to help get everyone signed in quickly.</p>
