Getting Started

This page is written for first-time users.

Before You Start

• Make a backup copy of your original TLK file.
• Keep your backup in a different folder than the file you plan to edit.
• Close other tools that might lock the same TLK file.

Basic First Run

1. Launch TalkEd.
2. Open your TLK file.
3. Select an entry.
4. Change the text.
5. Save to a new file name first (recommended), then test in your game setup.

Safe Workflow Recommendation

1. Backup original TLK.
2. Edit only a small set of entries.
3. Save a test copy.
4. Verify results in-game.
5. Repeat in small batches.

This reduces the chance of losing work and makes mistakes easier to undo.
