.. note:: It is now required to enable HA on the XenServer pool in order to recover from a pool-master failure. Please refer to the `XenServer documentation <https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xencenter/7-1/pools-ha-enable.html>`_.

.. note::
CloudStack currently does not support passing the boot type of a VM to XenServer or XCP-ng. The hypervisor automatically determines
it based on the VM OS. Due to this internal mechanism, migrating VMs between hypervisor versions can cause the boot type to change,
which can cause the VM to not boot or freeze on the boot screen. To remediate this, the admin will have to manually change the
boot parameters either on Xen Orchestrator or on the hypervisor by running the command

.. parsed-literal::
xe vm-param-set uuid=<UUID> HVM-boot-params:firmware=<MODE>
xe vm-param-set uuid=<UUID> platform:secureboot=<OPTION>

For this reason, migrating VMs between XenServer and XCP-ng hypervisor versions is not recommended.

- VMware versions 6.5, 6.7 and 7.0

.. note:: There is a known issue in 6.7 U1 (https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/67315) which blocks some CloudStack cloning operations. The use of linked clones is known to be effected.
