🚨 Severity: CRITICAL
💡 Vulnerability: Command injection and event loop blocking in src/pages/api/docker-logs.ts and src/pages/api/forge-logs.ts due to execSync being called with unsanitized user inputs (id, tail, lines) via string concatenation.
🎯 Impact: An attacker could append shell metacharacters like ; or && to the id or tail parameters to execute arbitrary OS commands on the server. Moreover, execSync blocks the main Node.js event loop, enabling easy Denial of Service attacks.
🔧 Fix:

  • Migrated execSync to the asynchronous execFile method.
  • Passed command arguments as a distinct array to prevent the shell from interpreting them.
  • Added strict input validation to reject parameters starting with a hyphen (-) to prevent argument/flag injection.
Verification: Run pnpm test and pnpm check to ensure no regressions. Verified locally that commands containing ; fail safely.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 4012307483354953663 started by @bobdivx

- Migrated `execSync` to `execFile` in `src/pages/api/docker-logs.ts` and `src/pages/api/forge-logs.ts`.
- Validated inputs to prevent argument injection (`-`).
- Improved performance by not blocking the event loop.

Code Review

This pull request addresses a command injection vulnerability and event loop blocking issue in the Docker and Forge log API endpoints. It replaces the synchronous execSync with an asynchronous execFile implementation, adds input validation to prevent argument injection, and updates the documentation in .jules/sentinel.md to reflect these security improvements. I have no feedback to provide as the changes correctly implement the described security fixes.
