What this PR changes/adds
Simplify a bit the design of the catalog crawler and rename
ExtensionManagerintoCatalogCrawlerManagerNOTE: the re-work isn't complete yet, I didn't want the PRs to be too big
Why it does that
simplicity, maintainability
