Hi, I'm Emily 👋

Senior Software Engineer · Technical Leader

Formerly known as Andrea Cammarata

🐙Former GitHub → https://github.com/acammarata-ca-spark

Based in Italy, I’ve spent nearly 30 years building software across desktop, web, and mobile platforms. In recent years, I’ve focused on AI-driven systems and integrations, applying them to real-world products where they can create tangible impact.

I work hands-on across the full lifecycle, from architecture and system design to implementation and delivery, turning complex ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions.

I started early, releasing an open-source 3D project before turning 18. Over the years, I’ve worked across a wide range of companies in Italy and founded two independent ventures, collaborating with clients across Europe and the US.

I later contributed to enterprise projects across EMEA and the US, working with organizations such as Intel (Tizen), NATO, Deloitte, Time Warner Cable, AT&T, and Thales as part of the @sencha Professional Services team.

I write and build under the name Emily Winters (previously Andrea Cammarata). Being a transgender woman is part of my story, and authenticity matters deeply to me. 🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈

What I'm passionate about

I focus on making AI practical. I build systems where AI is not just an interface, but an active part of the product, capable of reasoning, interacting with tools, and driving real workflows.

My work today revolves around real-time assistants, tool-based architectures, and multi-tenant platforms that scale. I enjoy bridging engineering, product thinking, and business impact.

I’m particularly interested in how intelligent systems reshape developer experience and how teams can adopt them without adding unnecessary complexity.

Current focus

  • AI-powered applications and real-time assistants
  • Tool-based and agent-driven architectures
  • Scalable SaaS and multi-tenant platforms
  • Building Astropholis 🌠

When I step away from the keyboard

Astrophotography is where engineering meets wonder for me. I enjoy capturing deep-sky objects and continuously refining both the technical and creative sides of the process.

Outside of that: gaming 🎮, piano 🎹, fitness 🏋️, and life as a mom of two 👩‍👧‍👦
