I moved my fork to use uv instead of relying on pip, and otherwise modernised the project structure for my own needs. I figured I might as well suggest similar changes upstream, you're welcome to merge this if interested. Questions are also welcome.

Upon close review, we have decided not to merge this PR.

While contributions may be welcome, we unfortunately will use our discretion if we understand it is not entirely constructive within purview of this project.

If you are interested in digital font technology, the founder and I may advise, but proposing changes to tooling we are mostly happy with is not the best avenue.
