My Dotfiles

A group of dotfiles for my daily development

Requeriments

macOS

  • Version: Ventura or greater

You need to install Homebrew and Chezmoi first

Install Homebrew

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

Install chezmoi

brew install chezmoi

Ubuntu

  • Version: 22.04 or greater

Fedora

  • Version: 38 or greater

Steps

Get chezmoi (except for macOS, use Brew) and install this config

sh -c "$(curl -fsLS chezmoi.io/get)" -- init --ssh --apply helmerdavila
# Only for macOS
chezmoi init --ssh --apply helmerdavila

What's installing?

  • Chezmoi
  • Zsh
  • Oh my zsh
  • Vim plug
  • ~/.vimrc file
  • ~/.ideavimrc file (used for Jetbrains)
  • ~/.tmux.conf file
  • ~/.config/alacritty/alacritty.yml file

Creating an ~/.nvimrc (Custom Neovim) and ~/.ovimrc (Custom Original Vim)

Chezmoi will create the file when you start it the first time. Make sure the content is nearly similar to the next file contents

Copy Mode

prefix + v Enter copy mode
prefix + [ Enter copy mode (default)

v Begin selection
C-v Toggle rectangle selection
y Copy selection and exit
H Jump to start of line
L Jump to end of line
Escape Cancel / exit copy mode

Copy Mode — tmux-yank

y Copy selection to system clipboard

D Copy from cursor to end of line

Copy Mode — tmux-open

Shortcut Description
o Open selection with default app / browser
C-o Open selection in $EDITOR
S Search selection with web browser
