Adds a Spotify widget directly to the Windows taskbar.

Features:

  • play / pause
  • previous / next track
  • seekbar
  • hover time tooltip
  • transparent background

This mod allows controlling Spotify directly from the Windows taskbar.

This mod is very similar to Taskbar Music Lounge (and obviously based on it, although it's not mentioned anywhere). The only Spotify-specific functionality I see is the media session filtering to pick Spotify, and the click event to open Spotify.

I think it'd make more sense to have these added as options to the original Taskbar Music Lounge mod, for Spotify and perhaps other players.

Unfortunately, the maintainer of Taskbar Music Lounge is busy and decided to stop development. A fork with multiple improvements was planned to be published by @Cinabutts.

@Cinabutts, what's the status of the fork? Are you still planning on publishing it? What do you think about adding these two options as well?

Thanks for pointing that out.

You're right — the base of this mod was initially taken from Taskbar Music Lounge. I should have mentioned that earlier in the description, that was my mistake.

My intention was to experiment with a Spotify-focused version and modify the UI and behavior to better fit that use case. I also plan to continue working on it and improving it over time with additional features and changes.

If it would make more sense to integrate these ideas into the original mod or the planned fork instead, I'm open to that as well.
