Are you able to propose a similar commit to the script version (usable through command line): https://github.com/raspberrypi/piclone/blob/master/src/backup ?
I think it would be of interest to be able to make regular backup through command line on an img file (USB drive or network drive)

Pi Clone is a great addition to the Pi tool set. I will be using the CLI script.
There are plenty of programs that will create an image of an SD card onto HDD.
There aren't any that I know that will take a Pi image and shrink/expand it onto an SD card
I have images that are practically unusable because the new SD cards I have are a few kb smaller than the one the image was pulled from.
